Working in Resilient Environments (WIRE)

Class Length: 90 minutes

At Kaiser Permanente, we’re committed to health in all the places people live, learn, work and play. Employees in schools and workplaces face daily challenges to their mental health and resilience, and developing the skills to manage these stressors can be overwhelming. Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre has created programs that utilize theatre and an arts-based methodology to create opportunities for connection amongst colleagues and provide practical tools and resources for fostering healthy and resilient workforces. Working in Resilient Environments (WIRE) uses experiential learning and arts-integration techniques to engage participants in the discovery and practical implementation of tools and strategies that address stress and burnout and foster a resilient workforce. Participants in WIRE will: Identify wellness challenges , discover ways to bring joy to the workplace, practice resilience and empathy, and develop supportive relationships with colleagues.

With over 20 years of facilitation and teaching artistry experience, the expert facilitators of the Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre, Taleia Wheeler, Diona Burnett, Carlos Ramos, and Daniel Reano-Koven, draw from arts-based practices and guide participants through collaborative exercises, reflective practices, and creative expression to develop a deep understanding of their own strengths and the collective power of resilience. Participants will walk away with practical tools and effective techniques to manage stress and burnout and cultivate a resilient work environment.
