Election Day is November 5, 2024.

All registered voters in California receive a vote-by-mail ballot. Ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office. Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day. 

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can physically cast their vote at a polling place. Vote-by-mail ballots are only valid if they are postmarked on or before Election Day.
