Dependent Scholarships

Dependent Scholarships - $1,000

Your family members are our family. And to show our appreciation to the commitment of our members, we offer annual scholarships to your loved ones! With an overall annual scholarship and grant budget of over $135,000, CSEA is proud to offer $1,000 scholarships to dependents and spouses of CSEA members, helping many continue their education after high school.

These scholarships are for:

  • Graduating high school seniors
  • Community college students
  • College/university students
  • Trade/vocational students

Eligibility Requirements

Graduating high school seniors and those already in college are eligible to apply. Applications are available in mid-November and are due March 1.  Here are the eligibility requirements:

First Year Scholarship

  • Applicant must be an IRS-dependent of a CSEA member in good standing.
  • Applicants must be a graduating high school senior or equivalent (i.e., private school, privately tutored, or accredited correspondence school)
  • Applicant must be planning to enter, as a full-time student, an accredited college by the Fall term following the granting of the scholarship. (Accredited colleges include community colleges offering trade and vocational programs, other accredited trade, or vocational schools, as well as four-year institutions)
  • Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.

Community College Scholarship

  • Applicant must be an IRS-dependent (includes spouse) of a CSEA member in good standing.
  • Applicant must be enrolled on a full-time basis in community college at the time of submitting the application and must continue into the Fall term (or equivalent) immediately upon receiving the scholarship.
  • Applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, including all subjects taken at the community college level.

College/Vocational Scholarship

  • Applicant must be an IRS-dependent (includes spouse) of a CSEA member in good standing.
  • Applicant must be enrolled on a full-time basis in college or vocational school at the time of submitting the application and must continue into the Fall term (or equivalent) immediately upon receiving the scholarship.
  • Applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, including all subjects taken at the college level.

The selection of scholarship awards is made by the CSEA Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee wishes to emphasize that applicants must accurately and completely provide all of the information requested on the application form, including a signed letter of recommendation. An official transcript from your current school must also be provided.
