Overview
CSEA and its partners in the labor movement have made numerous historic strides for workers’ rights and safety on the job. Establishing many rights that we take for granted, such as the eight-hour workday, weekends and the end of child labor, the labor movement has worked tirelessly for justice and equality in the workplace.
During the month of May, public schools and school districts are encouraged to commemorate Labor History with appropriate educational exercises that educate students about the role the labor movement has played in shaping California and the United States.
