Area K: Thriving. United. Forward
We are home to lands as diverse as its people. The birthplace of California, where the sun rises over the deserts, mountains, and dunes of the Imperial Valley, and sets in the hills, sands, and oceans of San Diego County. Where we continue to learn about and begin to respect our indigenous roots, and celebrate today's diversity of people across Southern California.
We are 24,000 classified professionals strong, organizing with the greater labor community to secure our future, and working together to improve the lives of our members, students, and community.
Bienvenidos. Welcome to Area K.
Area K Info & Announcements
Area K is one of 10 CSEA Areas across the state, encompassing all Chapters, Regions, and classified professionals in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Established by Annual Conference delegates in 1999, Area K is CSEA's newest Area. Our unity, strength, diversity, political action, and partnership with the greater labor community through the San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council (CLC) culminate in our solidarity together.
Our Area's membership works in collaboration with CSEA staff in the San Diego Field Office (SDFO) to protect our rights and advance our interests in public education. We established and represent the health and welfare needs, both physical and mental, for all families through California Schools VEBA, headquartered in San Diego. And we believe our students and all working families across our Area should have the opportunity to grow and thrive into living a fulfilling life.
