Dear CVUSD Family,

We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved sister Patricia “Patty” Carrizales who passed away unexpectedly. She was a wonderful person with a big heart who was loved by many and will be terribly missed by her whole family, but especially by her son, daughter and grandchildren who loved her dearly.

Patty was a devoted paraeducator who worked in the Children and Family Services Department for 28 years. She loved working with small children and was very proud of seeing them achieve their goals and accomplishments throughout the year. Patty was often described as being the “life of the party” because she brought a lot of laughter and joy to the people around her. She was a proud and active member of the CSEA Chapter 109 and was never afraid to stand up for worker rights.

We want to thank all of you who have reached out to express your support and condolences to our family during this difficult time.

You can join us for the wake which will be held at Forest Lawn in Coachella on Wednesday, August 24th from 6:00pm-9:00pm. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Soledad (new church) in Coachella on Thursday, August 25th at 9:00am with the burial following at the Coachella Valley Cemetery.
