Feckner elected vice president of CalPERS Board
Former Association President Rob Feckner was elected as vice president of the CalPERS Board of Administration on January 18 by his fellow Board members. Theresa Taylor was elected as board president.
“I’m proud to serve as vice president and I am committed to fulfilling our mission of retirement security to our members,” said Feckner. “We’ve made significant progress in our funded status and have a strong foundation to build on in years to come.”
Feckner, who served as Association President of CSEA from 2005-2009 has represented school members on the CalPERS board since 1999. He currently serves as chair of the Pension & Health Benefits and the Performance, Compensation & Talent Management committees. He is also on the Board Governance and Investment committees.
Feckner served as president of the CalPERS board for 13 years and is a past president and life member of CSEA and past executive vice president of the California Labor Federation.
He has worked for the Napa Valley Unified School District for more than 40 years. He is currently a glazing specialist and previously worked as a school bus driver and instructional assistant for special needs students.
The CalPERS election follows the resignation of Henry Jones, who announced he will leave the board effective January 21.
