The 98th CSEA Annual Conference was held on July 28 – August 1, 2024, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.  CSEA chapters locally elect conference delegates of the chapter who attend conference to represent the chapter. As they do at every conference, delegates spend the week gathering information, debating resolutions and budgets, and casting votes on behalf of their chapters back home. In addition to the formally scheduled events, these dedicated members take advantage of the annual gathering to discuss their challenges and exchange ideas with one another.

Irenea Herrera, Administrative Assistant III for the Monterey County SELPA, and Chapter 35 Communications Officer, was the recipient of one of CSEA’s highest honors presented to members for their commitment and dedication to the students of California, community involvement, and union activism.  She was recognized at the conference with a Member of the Year (MOY) 2024 award. It was a moment she will remember all her life.  Irenea was also awarded her third CSEA Communication Award - Excellence in Web 2024.
