1. Monthly Chapter Meetings: These meetings are vital forums for discussion and collective action. By attending, you can influence union decisions, share ideas and concerns about workplace issues, and network with colleagues. Attending meetings keeps you informed, connected, and empowered to contribute to our union's work.
2. Voting: Your vote is crucial for union democracy. You directly determine our union's direction and leadership through two key votes: contract ratification, where you approve or reject the proposed contract, and Executive Board elections (next in 2026), where you elect those who represent your interests. Voting is the most powerful way to express concerns and support candidates.
3. Contract Surveys: These surveys directly influence contract negotiations. Before bargaining begins, we need to know your priorities. The survey asks for feedback on important contract articles, allowing you to prioritize which areas the bargaining team should focus on. The bargaining team will only consider changes to articles brought up in the survey. This is your chance to directly influence negotiations and ensure your priorities are addressed.
